The 2/3 rule bet on roulette is a theory where you put 3 units on Red/Black or Odd/Even and 2 chips on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Column thereby covering a lot of possible outcomes. In theory over a period of time this method may turn a small profit for you.
In reality for you to return a profit you must win better than half the time. Having said that, using a $5 base unit, putting $15 on Red and $10 on 3rd Column, if you lose the column bet but win the colour bet you will make a $10 profit.
In the table below, using a $5 base unit put 3 units on Red and 2 units on the 1st Column, you can see the result with a Colour/Column win, Colour loss but Column win etc.
Amout Bet 3/2 | Result 3/2 | Return (Inc. Bet) |
---|---|---|
$15/$10 | Win/Win | $60 |
$15/$10 | Loss/Win | $30 |
$15/$10 | Win/Loss | $30 |
$15/10 | Loss/Loss | -$25 |
$15/10 | 0 or 00 | -$25 |
The nature of Roulette will win in the end
Roulette is a game of chance and all betting strategies will eventually lose. In order to become profitable you don’t want to lose too many times in a row.
Modifying the 3/2 rule a little and placing 3 units on Red/Black and 2 on 2 Column bets can decrease profits but make wins more frequent.
First rule of roulette is don’t play roulette.
