I’ve previously complained about Crown Casino in Perth breaking the rules of roulette. Not spinning the wheel or ball after “No More Bets” has been called is a clear breach. See this article to read about my experiences on multiple visits.
After a visit in June 2024 I’m happy to report their Stage Roulette Croupiers performed perfectly over multiple shifts changes.
The wheel was turning and the ball was rolling before No More Bets and that is awesome. That is how it should be done.
Credit where credit is due
When an organisation gets something right I’ll be the first person on my feet applauding and screaming their praises.
I do not know if this was a coincidence or whether Crown have read my previous blog about them not following the rules, but during our visit there was a distinct difference in the behavior of croupiers. They were paying attention and spinning the ball when they should. I played from midday until 6 PM on an off and never noticed a screw up.
Good work Crown, you deserve a pat on the back.
Why bother with rules when gambling
Rules for gambling games exist for several important reasons but the most important are;
- Fairness and Integrity
Consistent rules for games across all casinos such as Roulette, Black Jack, Poker and others ensure games are fair for players and casino operators alike. We know our odds and everyone has an equal chance of winning based on skill or luck. - Dispute Resolution
In any competitive activity disputes can arise, especially when money is being won or lost. Having clear rules helps in resolving disputes fairly and efficiently and can ensure outcomes are accepted by all participants. - Responsible Gambling
Rules often include measures to promote responsible gambling, such as limits on bets, limited play time, and self-exclusion options. These measures help protect players from developing gambling problems and ensure that the activity remains a form of entertainment rather than a harmful habit.
I lost my money on this trip – double good work Crown!
Our visit to the casino was a last minute choice. We were not planning a visit until July when we will spend a weekend with friends and stay at Crown Resorts.
Sadly this most recent trip turned out to be a bust for me, making this the third time in many years I’ve lost money playing roulette.
Although I was smart and once I realised I was going backwards I stopped and walked away.
Bottom line is a big shout out for Crown Perth for resolving the issue which has plagued all of my visits to Crown over the past years.
Happy Roulette Adventures everyone
